About this park
This park used to be a pastoral station and now it is part of the Shark Bay World Heritage Area. Make sure you stop in at the Peron Homestead Precinct to see what it was like living on a remote sheep station.
The waters around the park are full of marine life. It’s no surprise that swimming, snorkelling, canoeing and fishing are popular activities. You can even launch a small boat at some of the beaches. Beachside camping areas are available, so you can wake to the sound of waves lapping the shore.
At the north tip of Cape Peron there are picnic tables, toilets and access to the beach. From the two clifftop lookouts at Skipjack Point you might be lucky enough to see turtles, manta rays, sharks, dugongs, dolphins and schools of fish.
Francois Peron has lots to see and do both in and out of the water. Four-wheel drive (4WD) fans will love the ride!

Safety information
Plan when to visit. Read this safety information about bushwalking, swimming, fishing, paddling, kayaking and snorkelling. Consider traveling with a personal location beacon (PLB). In the event you need to be rescued it could save your life!
Swimming is not recommended at Cape Peron due to the meeting of two strong currents.
