Malus Island is one of a number of islands in the Dampier Archipelago that allow day use and camping in specially marked recreation zones.

Campers can set up their tent within 100m of the high tide watermark and stay for up to five nights but as there are no facilities on the island please take all rubbish home with you and carry plenty of drinking water.
As islands are an important refuge for wildlife domestic pets are not allowed. Please use a portable gas stove as open fires are not permitted to ensure escaped fires don't destroy the fragile environment.
The island is situated north-west of the Burrup Peninsula approximately 18km from Dampier.
