South Ledge

Welcome
Previous Pause Next

A small quiet picnic area located south of Mundaring Weir. The Golden View Lookout here provides amazing panoramic views over Lake CY O’Connor, the Mundaring Weir and the Helena River Valley.

The South Ledge picnic area has several picnic tables, toilets and adjacent walks. There are Jarrah and Marri trees around the picnic area and quite a few flowers out in spring where the granite outcrops occur.

The 400-metre-return walk from South Ledge to Golden View is particularly scenic. The walk through the bush meets a viewing platform and affords sweeping views of the surrounding Helena River Valley. It comes complete with interpretive signage explaining much about the history of the area.
