About this campground
The camping area is set in banksia woodland. It is the first of two campgrounds within the Thomas River area. Facilities include two shelters - each with two picnic tables and a gas barbecues. The campground has two toilet blocks. Camp fees are payable on-site at the information hut.
You can spot many common birds, including several kinds of honeyeaters when the banksias are in flower. The Thomas River estuary is also worth a look, particularly on the sandbar, where you may see a variety of waterbirds and waders including pied oystercatchers and crested terns.
